In more peaceful times, Ann Sheridan was the American actress and sex symbol who starred in the 1938 Angels with Dirty Faces opposite James Cagney and the 1939 Dodge City opposite Errol Flynn.

Known as the Oomph Girl and the recipient of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, she became a popular pin-up girl of American GIs during the Second World War, acting and singing in musicals such as the 1943 Thank Your Lucky Stars and the 1944 Shine On, Harvest Moon.
