Tracing a descent from the earliest Irish kings, the Bradys played a significant role in the frequently turbulent drama that is the island’s history.

They furnished not only poets and distinguished churchmen but also carved a name for themselves far from the shores of their native land.

On the stage, Alice Brady was an American star of both the stage and the silver screen. She won an Academy Award in 1937 for her role of Mrs Molly O’Leary in the movie In Old Chicago – and mystery surrounds what happened to her Oscar award.

She was unable to be present at the awards ceremony and the award was accepted on her behalf by what turned out to be an impostor, who was never tracked down, and the whereabouts of the award remains a mystery to this day.

Presented here is the proud and stirring tale of the Bradys.
