English Book - Bailey

First popularised as a surname on British shores in the wake of the key event that was the Norman Conquest of 1066, ‘Bailey’ features prominently in the frequently high drama that is the historical record.

From the much different worlds of business, aviation and invention to photography, sport, music and the stage, many bearers of the name have gained international recognition.

Behind the camera lens, David Bailey is the acclaimed photographer particularly famed for his work throughout the 1960s in ‘Swinging London’ – capturing on film iconic images of a colourfully diverse range of celebrities including the Beatles, Mick Jagger, the model Jean Shrimpton, the ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev and the notorious London East End gangsters the Kray twins.
