Solid polished pewter toasting quaich that has been handcrafted in Scotland.
The design of the quaich shows a traditional Scottish celtic cross in the centre of the bowl surrounded by a traditional celtic interlacing.
The handles or lugs of the quaich also have a Celtic interlace design symbolising eternal life this really is a beautiful gift.
Supplied in a satin lined presentation box with a story card telling the history of the quaich and the celtic design.
Traditionally crafted lead free pewter quaich made in Ayrshire, Scotland by one of the last remaining Scottish pewter mills.
Quaich measures 13cm from handle to handle and the bowl of the quaich is approximately 3.5 inches in diameter.
Traditionally offered as a cup of welcome or farewell the word quaich derives from the Gaelic "Cuach" which means "shallow cup".
This simple cup comes with two handles or colloquially "Lugs" was originally made from wood, horn or leather and later pewter and silver.
This highland greeting cup is now gaining popularity for toasting many happy occasions.
