Art Pewter Supplier Spotlight

Art Pewter Supplier Spotlight

Today for our supplier spotlight we take a look at a company that has done so much good for people who have done so much for us. Art Pewter, who employ disabled ex-servicemen and women specialise in the old art of silversmithing.
.
.
The company was founded by late Scottish Industrialist Hamish Dawson-Bowman. The entire purpose of starting the business was to give a new sense of purpose and pride to disabled ex-servicemen and women. He revived the art of silversmithing in Scotland which had been dormant for years.
.
.
The retrained people work in East Kilbride and make everything by hand, a true testament to the workability of the Scots! Celtic designs are a hallmark!
.
.
Their works are truly beautiful. Combining silver with numerous other materials creates a truly excellent product that has to be seen to be believed. Silversmithing hadn't been done in Scotland for decades until these folks came along and brought it back to life!
.
.
But it’s not just silver they specialise in; they have a range of cross stitch kits with Scottish themes. Bookmarks and cushion panels. They’re a real Jack of all trade’s family!
.
.
The business gave these people the opportunity to create something they were proud of by learning the beautiful trade and giving them a sense of purpose where they may not have one. Disability can cause one to become very disenfranchised and disheartened with life and being given a new purpose can truly help a person.
.
.
Here at Kilts Wi Hae we’re proud to be one of there stockists! The work they do is brilliant and seeing these people who’ve given so much be helped in this way. This is truly a company with a big heart. With code FACEBOOK you can get 15% off all Art Pewter products and you can find them here!
