For today’s supplier spotlight, we’ll be hopping on the ferry and heading north all the way up to Orkney to say hello to the puffins, marvel at Skara Brae, have a dram with the Highland Park lads and take a browse through the fine collections from a great wee family business; Orkney Storehouse!

Orkney Storehouse began as the brainchild of Stormness residents Elaine and Steven Tulloch. The couple both share a love for wildlife and their island home and wanted to capture what Orkney is and the animals that inhabit it. Thus Orkney Storehouse was born in 2016.

Working closely with award winning Orkney artist Tim Wootton, a member of the Society of Wildlife Artists, the final products speak for themselves, a brilliant collection of fine bone china and homeware products. Tim’s artwork has plenty of awards and his work has been displayed in galleries and in private collections all over the world.

The 6 animals that sit on the products are; a Stonechat upon a branch, an Eider Drake having a swim, a Short-Eared Owl in the heather, an Oystercatcher on the shoreline, a Waxwing on a berry branch and last but not least a cheeky Puffin standing in the sea thrift.

The wildlife of the party

The Orkney Storehouse collection of fine bone china ranges from complete tea sets to pasta bowls. Each of their china products is adorned by a wildlife illustration, which gives you the luxury of multiple choices. For example, you could have a tea set that is made up purely from the Eider Drake collection or have a different animal for each part. A Puffin teapot, Oystercatcher sugar bowl, Waxwing mug and so on, the possibilities are endless!
