We once again venture south across the border and this time we head down to Sheffield for this week’s supplier spotlight. Today we’ve got another great maker of all things Pewter; Edwin Blyde!

The story of Edwin Blyde starts all the way back in the 18th century with the arrival of steam power and since then have been manufacturers of pewter-ware. The progress of the company has led to them becoming one of the World’s leading pewter manufacturers!

Since 1798, Edwin Blyde has been firmly based in and remained one of Sheffield’s most renowned companies! The stunning pewter creations have to be seen to be believed. Employees are trained on site to he highest of standards.

The manufacturing process involves several steps; Pressing the designs. Spinning on the lathe into various shapes. Rolling and soldering. Casting, the oldest and most traditional method pewter manufacturing. Then finishing to give the finished product the best possible look.

The final part of the process is Quality Control. Edwin Blyde makes sure that every single product that leaves in an acceptable condition. If it’s found to not live up to their standards then it’s put back to be sorted so nothing goes to waste.

Our main stock of Edwin Blyde consists of primarily of quaich’s and hip flasks. Both are of an amazing quality and the QC process can be seen on any of their products purchased!
