Dunoon, funnily enough, started in the town of Dunoon on the west coast of Scotland. Since 1974, the family business had been created with the goal to fill a gap in the market that lacked mugs and tea accessories that had a focus on having interesting designs on them.

Only 8 years after, the company opened a brand new factory and moved to the heart of the Britain’s ceramic industry, Staffordshire in the wee town of Stone. Under the management of the Smith family, Gordon, Alan and Peter, they strived to work with plenty of independent artists and designers to create constantly changing ranges of beautiful artwork to be used on the mugs that take various different shapes.

Since their inception, Dunoon has strived to create a quality product. This can be seen through any of their products, with everything produced going through rigorous quality checks to make sure that the customer is satisfied.

Dunoon mugs are made from high quality bone china. Sourced from Cornwall, they use china clay which gives the mugs their trademark bright white appearance. Skilled local crafters, many of which have been with the company for years, create all of the mugs. Only after their quality check can they be given the Dunoon shield of quality.
