Lang Syne English Family Information History Fact Book - Middleton

Present from as far back as the sixth century, ‘Middleton’ lends itself to a number of English place names in addition to being the maiden name of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, better known as ‘Kate’, wife of Prince William, second in line of succession to the British throne, and the mother of Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Many of the name have achieved high honours and distinction. On American shores, Arthur Middleton is recognised as one of the Founding Fathers of the United States as a signatory on July 4, 1776 of the American Declaration of Independence.

On the stage, Margaret Yvonne Middleton was the American actress better known by her stage name of Yvonne De Carlo; best known for her role of Lily Munster in the television series The Munsters, her big screen credits include For Whom the Bell Tolls and The Ten Commandments.
