A rich and heady brew of the blood of Anglo-Saxons and Normans flows through the veins of many bearers of the Harrison name.

They have stamped an indelible mark on the historical record, with Major General Thomas Harrison the English Parliamentarian who was one of the signatories in 1649 of the death warrant of the Charles 1, while three have been recipients of the Victoria Cross, the highest award for valour in the face of enemy action for British and Commonwealth forces.

William Harrison served as 9th President of the United States from March 4, 1841 until his death exactly a month later, while his grandson Benjamin Harrison served as president from 1889 to 1893.
